FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Here are straight answers to the questions we hear most often from homeowners, renters, landlords, property managers and small businesses around Warragul and the Baw Baw district. If your question isn’t here, send us a quote request and add it in the message.

What areas do you cover?

We work across Warragul, Drouin, Trafalgar, Yarragon, Longwarry, Nilma, Darnum, Rokeby, Buln Buln and Neerim South. If you’re just outside these towns, ask anyway. See our areas page.

What kinds of jobs do you take on?

Small and medium repairs and maintenance: doors, walls, plaster patching, painting touch-ups, fences and gates, gutters, decks, shelving, TV mounting, flat-pack assembly, minor carpentry and general odd jobs. See all services.

Is there a minimum job size?

No strict minimum. Small jobs are welcome, and grouping several small jobs into one visit is usually the most efficient approach.

How do I get a quote?

Fill in the free quote form with a description of the job, your suburb and, if possible, a few photos. We’ll get back to you to discuss it.

Do you publish prices on the website?

No. Every job is different, so we quote on the actual work after understanding what’s involved.

Can you do electrical or plumbing work?

No. Electrical, gas and plumbing work in Victoria must be done by appropriately licensed trades. We can work alongside them, for example preparing or making good around their work.

Do you handle asbestos?

No. Many older homes in West Gippsland contain asbestos. If a material might contain asbestos we won’t drill, cut or sand it, and we’ll recommend testing by a licensed professional. WorkSafe Victoria has guidance for homeowners.

Can you do structural work?

Larger structural or building work that requires a registered builder or a permit isn’t something we take on. We focus on repairs and maintenance.

Do you work for landlords and property managers?

Yes. We handle routine maintenance, repair lists and pre-inspection fixes for rentals. See our property managers page.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes, for small businesses such as shops, offices, clinics and community buildings. See commercial handyman services.

Can you assemble flat-pack furniture?

Yes, including anchoring tall furniture to the wall to reduce tip-over risk.

Can you mount a TV on the wall?

Yes, on suitable walls with the right fixings. Any new power points or concealed wiring need a licensed electrician.

Do you fix sticking or dragging doors?

Yes. We adjust hinges, plane and reseal doors, and replace latches and handles where needed.

Can you patch holes in plasterboard?

Yes, from small dents to larger holes, finished ready for paint.

Do you repair timber fences and gates?

Yes, including replacing palings, rails and posts and re-hanging sagging gates. Pool fence gates must meet Victorian safety requirements, so we’ll talk through what’s needed.

Do you clean gutters?

Yes, on single-storey homes and where safe access is possible. Keeping gutters clear is also part of bushfire preparation; see the CFA’s advice.

Do you work on rural and lifestyle properties?

Yes. Sheds, gates, fences and outbuildings on blocks around the Baw Baw hills are common jobs.

Do you bring your own tools and materials?

We bring our own tools. Materials are discussed as part of the quote, and you’re welcome to supply your own fittings if you prefer.

Do I need to be home during the job?

Not always. For many jobs, access arrangements can be agreed in advance. For rentals, we can coordinate with the tenant or agent.

How do you handle rubbish from the job?

We clean up after ourselves and can discuss removal of offcuts and old materials as part of the quote.

Can I give you a list of small jobs?

Yes, please do. A written list with photos helps us plan the visit and bring the right gear.

Can you help get a house ready for sale?

Yes. Pre-sale touch-ups such as patching, door adjustments, hardware replacement and minor repairs are common requests.

Can you help prepare for a rental inspection or bond return?

Yes, for repairs such as wall patching, picture hook holes and door fixes. Consumer Affairs Victoria has guidance on renters’ and rental providers’ responsibilities.

Do you work in wet weather?

Indoor jobs go ahead regardless. Outdoor jobs may be rescheduled when the weather makes them unsafe or would affect the finish.

How do I contact you?

Use the quote request form. It’s the quickest way to give us the details we need.

Where can I read about how you handle my details?

See our privacy policy and terms.
